Panel Tax Code Plan Has Micro Goodies
Apr 14th, 2008 | By Dawn Rivers Baker | Category: PodcastsLast week was not one that I would call exciting in the land of microbusiness news.
Having said that, I do have to give House Small Business Committee Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez and the various subcommittee chairs credit for running a very active committee. They have already held three hearings just since they returned from recess on April Fool’s Day (or so), and there’s another two hearings scheduled this week.
And when you stop to think about two of this week’s articles — the impact of rising fuel prices on small businesses and the impact of the housing market mess on microbusinesses — it really does seem like the economy is doing its mite to beat up on small businesses these days.
I also have something brand spanking new for this week: a guest columnist for my weekly Policy Matters column. It was an interesting piece but I think, in the future, I’m going to try to have guest columnists read their own columns.
